If you serve in the public in an elected or planning capacity, you're involved in shaping your community's future. If you're an involved citizen, then you've probably participated in public input processes on policies regarding growth and development. But we all know that in this global age, just as we must enlarge our horizons in economic thinking, we must enlarge our horizons when we think about growth, development and environment... Many of these things that we thought were local are becoming regional, as our communities grow both in population and size. CONNECT is about how our regional community shapes its future - CONNECT is for you.
Within the pages of this site you will find the results of collaboration among the many different communities, and the two states, that make up the Greater Charlotte Bi-State Region. We have learned that what we share in common is more important than our differences. And, we have learned that we all want to work together to craft a future that works for all of us. The documents you can access through CONNECT will demonstrate shared values within the studies examined - which we hope will provide a roadmap for future plans and policies.
