A regional vision is only as strong as the vision of its participating communities and greatly depends on their active participation and engagement. The regional vision can help each community realize its own vision, but in order for that to happen, our communities need to be able to articulate their aspirations.
Public participation is essential as well to ensure that the vision accurately reflects the hopes and desires of the public as well as the leadership – because the public votes not only at the polling booth, but also in the marketplace. You may never have thought about it, but decisions such a vehicle and housing choices affect the nature of the region we share, and how our regions grows. Everyone shares responsibility for helping to shape the vision and bringing it to life.
